Pound, pound, pound!

My little kids are sleeping through this madness, thank heavens. This is not the way I like to spend thousands of dollars (I'd really love new couches), but it was definitely necessary. I really wish I would have taken some "before" pictures. This is the back of the house, almost done. Hooray for the man working around the chimney. That's where the water was coming in.
The front is torn off, but still needs shingles. Hopefully it will be done in a couple hours. It was in such bad shape, they had to replace some of the lumber.

The girls

Having church at 1pm is very hard for this family. No naps make for cranky, mean kids by 2pm. We HAVE found a plus side to it though. We stay in our jammies until noon. Here are girls having a tea party on Sunday morning.
We call this picture "Cinderella". Scarlett has an obsession with shoes and brooms, but this time she only had one shoe on. HAHAHA!!
The sweetest sisters ever. The love each other so much and almost never fight. I'll give them a couple more years.

Spring Skiing

Here was our last day of Pine Knob skiing for the season. The kids were done skiing pretty quickly and decided to play in the snow instead. Fun times and Spring weather.
They hung out with another patroller kid all afternoon. He didn't want to ski either. Throwing snowballs down the hill was MUCH more fun.

Just a bit of silliness after bath time tonight. Grayson has been making the funniest angry faces lately, so we got to thinking we should check out his other expressions. Sofia just thought it was fun to play too.

Ski Bums!

Took the kids to Pine Knob for a day of skiing a few weeks ago. Here is Sofia on the Magic Carpet with Grandpa George.

Sledding!!

Sofia got a sled from Afton for her birthday this year and has been DYING to try it out. Our friends Angie and Joe just happen to live across the street from a fun sledding hill and invited us to come over to sled and play today. I haven't gone sledding in years and my kids NEVER have (we're skiers I guess), but had a really great time!


Scarlett was easier to drag over to the park on a sled. Unfortunately she couldn't sit up in her huge puffy snowsuit so I laid her down. Since the sun was in her eyes in this position, she got to wear my sunglasses. I think she had fun sledding down the hill, but her back was always facing me so I couldn't tell.

Pick up who?

So last week I had the kids in the car on our way to pick up Julia to babysit for the night. Since Tricia, our other babysitter (and Julia's sister) drives to our house 4 days a week to sit for the kids, Sofia was a bit confused as to why we needed to pick up Julia. I explained that Julia can't drive because she hasn't gotten a drivers license yet.

So today, we were driving home from a FUN day at the Science Center when a fire department pick-up truck drives past us on the freeway. The conversation went like this.

Sofia: Hey mom, there's a fire truck.
Me: No, Sofia that's the fire department's pick-up truck. It's not the one that puts out fires.
Sofia: Is it going to pick up Julia?
Me: What?
Sofia: Is that fire pick up truck going to pick up Julia?
Me: (laughing!!) No, the truck doesn't pick up people, it's just the name for that type of truck.

SILLY GIRL!!
