Ok, so I missed my 100th post anniversary. This is really post #102. Oh well. SO, for my giveaway, I'm offering a few of my favorite products from right here in the motor city: 1 jar of YUMMY Sander's fudge, Faygo pop, and Better made chips!

What you have to do: Leave a comment on this post about how GREAT Detroit and/or Michigan is and your favorite spots, memories, or sights to see. You have until Saturday July 4th!

What I will do: Pick one winner (randomly, of course) and send you all 3 of these products. I reserve the right to send only one can of pop (NOT SODA... we're in Detroit you know) to save on shipping (I'm not rich), and take as long as I need (I'm busy people!). Good luck, and have fun!

My favorite memory is my honeymoon. We went to Travers city and they have a cool museum called the Music box museum . It has all kinds of instruments. Even Gershwin piano an old circus wagon organ.

HA! I will the first! I am not truly a michigan person, but I have to say that only thing that has topped my living here over CA is the sports. Sac town is seriously lacking it in, and Detroit is huge on the subject. My first Tigers game, was the 2nd to last at Tigers Stadium for Chris' birthday.

Ooh! Please let me win!! I love love love love love love Michigan! Seeing all of those things is so sentimental to me, so much that I tear up...I know, I'm nuts! I'd say Faygo is my fav, though and I need these things cuz my kids have started calling it soda.....nooooooo....I correct them all the time. Oh well.

Ok, so some of my favorite things about michigan. One the traffic here is so light..you say no! but it truly is. Compared to traffic in California the traffic here even at rush hour is like a normal day in street traffic anywhere in California and to top it off if you consider the whole population of Michigan is less than...YES LESS THAN...just the population of LA you have a winner here with me. I Love less cars!
The green in the state..wow, pretty, smells nice and the storms that roll through are marvelous! No where else can you watch the sun rise, get a thunderstorm and then have to turn on your air later in the day. Next the wave, you ask what is the wave, well that is the friendly guesture you get to get in or out of any traffic situation you find yourself into. Make eye contact, wave and voila instant space for your car. Now tell me you get that anywhere else in the US. And I suppose the last thing I will mention is the fan quota. SO many devotees of anything sport related. Red wings, lions, tigers you name it and there is a support system ready to stand up and cheer for the team!
I guess these things all get my vote.

Lafayette Coney Island. J-man and I went there one night after the DSO (also what I love about the D)and they don't take credit cards, so they just took all the cash we had to pay for our late nite jonesin' (which was about 3 bux short). I must say, the BLUE OVAL is my all time Mich fav. They let my man go there every day, the tell Obama "no thanks" and they keep us rollin'. Then there's the rockin'.. Motor City Mad Man (Ted Nugent,) great rock, sense of humor that can't be beat. They Whitney is a great place. Not as stuffy as you may think. Lunches are great and quite affordable. Gives you a blast of history. Hey, if I win, I'll come pick up the goodies... maybe even share a chip or two with Trisha and the kids, but the fudge.. all mine, baby!!! Can you make the pop a DIET Rock n Rye?

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the WATER! Maybe it's because we will be spending the 4th at Uncle Tom's (Jon's Uncle) lake (White Lake). This will be my 11th summer (I can't believe Jon and I have been together that long, wow) heading out to the lake to see the fireworks. And every year several houses down (I think it's a different street all together but still on the lake it's like 10 or so houses away) they have a huge party with terrible karaoke but it just wouldn't be the same without it. So long story short I just love all the lakes in MI!
